I. ACEC-NH :

A.   Our Mission:

"To support the business and professional interests of member firms, and enhance the practice of consulting engineering in New Hampshire."

We do this primarily by:

  • Representing our members' interests with local, state and federal legislators and policymakers in an even-handed, unbiased way;
  • Communicating with our members regarding issues that impact our profession;
  • Enhancing the public's appreciation of the role the professional engineer plays in every day life;
  • Providing continuing business education for our members;
  • Offering access to ACEC group benefits; and by
  • Supporting national efforts to enhance the business climate for consulting engineers.

B.   Our Services/Benefits:

  • Through the years, ACEC-NH has taken an active role in the New Hampshire Legislature monitoring engineering-related legislation and taking action as necessary to protect the public interests and the practice of engineering.
  • Monthly, ACEC-NH sponsors breakfast meetings with speakers ranging from State offices, the NHDOT and NHDES to State and Federal politicians, to business and independent leaders.
  • ACEC-NH conducts an annual Engineering Excellence Awards Program. All entries from the Engineering Excellence Awards Program are exhibited throughout the state every year, promoting the excellent work of New Hampshire's Consulting Engineering community.

ACEC-NH members participate on committees that affect business issues with the NHDOT and NHDES. We host professional seminars, coordinate with ACEC National in Washington D.C., and members of the NH QBS coalition and participate in February's Annual Engineer's Week and Annual Dinner, including selection of Engineer and Young Engineer of the Year.



II. ACEC National:

  • Promotes the business interests of the engineering industry to Congress, federal & state agencies, and international organizations,
  • Seeks passage of legislation and policies that create a favorable business climate for engineering companies,
  • Kills repeated attempts to shut down government outsourcing,
  • Secures funding increases to support needed investments in the nation's infrastructure,
  • Fights for the passage of HR 3678 to reform the Fair Labor Standards Act to protect engineering firms from unfair enforcement actions,
  • Aggressively promotes the use of Qualifications Based Selection (QBS) at all levels of public and private sector procurement,
