ACEC-NH committees promote the interests of our profession, the business of consulting engineering, and our member firms. Below is a description of each. We welcome your involvement on one of our committees. In fact, active participation in ACEC-NH’s coalitions and committees will dramatically increase the return on your dues investment in ACEC-NH. Below is a list of key standing ACEC-NH committees:
Board of Directors
ACEC-NH has a very strong group of volunteer leaders who provide invaluable support and strategic thinking and direction for our organization. They set policy for the organization and manage the association’s affairs.
Emerging Leaders Committee (ELC)
Our ELC is designed to cultivate future leaders in the engineering industry. The committee produces programs that allow emerging leaders an opportunity to interact with each other. It also provides forums where participants can meet and learn from top industry leaders and suggests programming for ACEC-NH meetings.
Engineering Excellence Awards Committee (EEA)
The EEA Committee plans, coordinates, and administers the annual EEA and the judging process.
Government Affairs Committee
This committee provides advocacy direction and guidance for the development of the governmental affairs programs of the Council.
Our Membership Committee recruits new members into ACEC-NH, reviews membership services and develops new services for our members.
NHDES Consultants Quality Initiative Committee (CQI)
This committee was created in 2002. Its purpose is for consultants and regulators to come together on a regular basis to discuss issues of mutual concern. The format is generally informal, and the group reviews a different topic each month. Legislative issues that are of interest to DES and ACEC-NH are often discussed at this meeting. When applicable, all relevant presentations and information is forwarded to the full membership from this committee.
NHDOT Consultants Quality Initiative Committee (CQI)
The purpose of this committee (founded in 1990) is to foster communication between the consulting community and NHDOT. The group typically meets on the third Thursday of each month at NHDOT. The committee produces official meeting notes each month and these are shared with all member firms as needed. There are currently 5 ACEC-NH members on this committee. The group has term limits to ensure all member firms can participate. The NHDOT CQI Committee has several subcommittees including the NHDOT/ACEC-NH Technical Transfer Conference, Contracts, Bridge and Highway review.
Programs and Events Committee
Our Programs and Events Committee develops seminars and workshops for business and educational programs.
Public Relations Committee
This committee is working to enhance the public perception and image of consulting engineers with implementation of several initiatives, including: website development, New Hampshire media relations, and expanding our community partnerships.
